1908 Concert

This is advertised as the 6th Annual Concert put on by the Stowupland Instrumental Society. The conuctor Arthur Bramhall was head master for Stowupland School.

The Rev Shallard was Stowupland’s vicar from 1899 to 1911. His first position as curate had been in Sheffield, but whether he knew the Bramhall family from his time as curate in Sheffield we don’t know.

We know the Tydeman family ran several businesses  in Stowmarket, but we don’t know which Mr Tydeman this is.

Mrs Bramhall played the organ in the church.

Mr John Petley was a teacher at the school. See The Deathless Army.
