Grange Farm Cottage

Grange farm Cottage is thought to be over 500 years old. it has been extended but retains many original features.

In the 20th century it was owned by the Cobbald family at Grange farm. This sketch of the interior layout of the cottage was drawn by Ivy Cobbold for Ena Carter. She calls it Mrs Scarlett‘s cottage because the family of Sidney Scarlett lived there in the early 20th century

In the 1950’s Sidney R.Scarlett moved into Saxham Cottage with his wife Joan Maud (ne Finbow) but he had been brought up next door in Grange Cottage. Sidney’s parents were Charles Scarlett and Edith Chaplin (Ena’s Mrs Scarlett). Edith left the cottage in the 1960s.
