In the days when elections had to be held to fill the places on the parish council.

You can find our more about some of our local Councillors:

Jack Carter was a local farmer, married to Ena Carter.

Alf. Addison worked for many years at ICI and in 1962 was awarded the MBE.

Sidney Scarlett was a local business man

Ron Wright was head master of Stowupland school.

In 1961 Mr A.G. Addison was re-elected as chair of the Stowupland Parish Council. Mr J.Carter was re-appointed as vice-chairman. the Chairman welcomed a new member Mr.S.A. Seamans.

Messrs R.W. Minns, S.R. Scarlett and R. Allard were appointed to constitute an allotment committee.

Messrs R. A. Wright, H. E.Marshall and P.Carter ere elected to for a burial ground committee.

In the 1970s Stowupland parish Council took over ownership of Stowupland Green.
