Animal Pests and Diseases
1896 Swine Fever was reported on Stowupland Farms
Cattle Plague or Rinderpest.
This was at Green Farm in 1866. This was probably James Godbold.
His son Herbert was also a vet but later generations became butchers.

In 1915 local farms were being devastated by Swine Fever and farmers were expected to obtain a licence if they needed to move animals. Too often we read reports of this paperwork not being sought. Edgar Baker from Oak Tree Farm was fined for moving a boar between his two properties in Saxham Street, Oak Tree Farm and Willow Farm.
