Thorney Campsey ( later ass with Thorney Keble)

Thorney Campsey was just one of several manors that held land in Stowupland.

The manor of Thorney was held by the Nuns of Campsey having been given to them by 1316 but then granted to Thomas, Duke of Norfolk in the reign of Henry VIII

1545 Thomas, Duke of Norfolk (so linked to numerous other manors throughout Suffolk), alienated in the same year to Robert Downes

1552 Lionel Talmarsh

1560 Stephen Keble (so linked to Finborough)

1598 Sir Stephen Soame (so linked to Cavendish, Bures, Freckenham, and Herringswell)

At sometime around the 17th century Thorney Campsey and Thorney Kebles appear to be linked
