A press cutting reported that unfortunately the sports programme had to be cancelled due to rain but would be held on the following Friday. A service was held in the church with the Rev Bonney officiating, this was followed by tea in the school when the children were presented with souvenir beakers.

The adults had a fine dinner served to them ‘in the beautifully decorated barn of Stowupland Hall’ (140 diners with soft light of petrol lamps kindly lent by Mr Chas Gyford.) Read more about Stowupland’s  1937 Coronation Celebrations
