Some places we have visited

Members of SLHG have enjoyed group tours of local private homes and pulic buildings. We are grateful to local house owners who have let us explore their homes.

In September 2022, 15 members of SLHG met in the car park of Stowupland Hall for a tour of the house and gardens. We were very grateful to Katie Fontana, one of the directors of Plain English, for not only allowing us to visit but also personally giving us a guided tour.  She was obviously very proud to own the Hall and of the work she and her partner had had done to rake care of the grade II listed building. During the course of their renovations they had uncovered elements of the hall that will help us understand more about its past.

SLHG members visited the archaeology dig where Trinity Meadows would be built

On a very cold day in 2018 members of the SLHG were invited to join some of  the archaeologists who were investigating what might lie below the surface of what would become Trinity Meadows.
