Willow Farm, Saxham Street

Willow Farm seems to have been a short lived farm. In the early 20th century it was been farmed by Edgar Baker alongside Oak Tree Farm in Saxham Street.
In 1915 Edgar Baker was taken to court charged with moving one of his boars between Oak Tree Farm and Willow farm without a licence. With Swine Fever in the district no movement of swine was permiited without a signed order.


In 1908 we have a report of the death of Mrs James Holden occurring at Willow Farm. This sketch was printed alongside the orbituary for Mrs Holden in the Suffolk Chronicle 14,the February 1908. She had lived with her daughter Mrs Bannister for her last 16 years.

In 1915 Edgar Baker is farmer at Oak Tree Cottage but where he is living is unknown.

In 1948 a Robert R. Garrett of Willow Farm Stowupland was fined 30s for riding a bicycle without the ‘requisite lights’. {Suffolk Chronicle: 15th October 1948}

On 12th August 1955 this cutting appeared in the Bury Free Press of a fire destroying the residence of mr & Mrs Chittock.

This advert appeared in the Bury Free Press on 14th April 1978 for the sale of Willow Farm, a Bungalow with 9 acres.
