Beecroft and Shulver
Beecroft, J (b1885)
According to the Surrey Recruitment Registers a J Beecroft (b 1885 in Stowupland) joined the East Surrey Regiment (11th Batn) in 1915. He had been a cowman and was described as 5ft 3in, 130lbs, with a chest measurement of 38ins.
Beecroft, Denis
In 1891-2 a Denis Beecroft was a shoemaker in Saxon (sic) Street. 1881 census names Dennis Beecroft (age 47) as a son-in-law living with wheelwright Joshua Shulver (widower age 68) and his daughter Harriett (age 37) and grandchildren, Harry (age 8), Alfred (age 5), Percy age 3) and William (age 5m)
In the 1969 PO Directory, a Joseph Shulver is named as a shop keeper.
