In the 1990s was Mrs Dowood Brown Owl, Tawney Owl or just a helper?

In 1992 according to Mrs Doward’s article in Telstar, 15 Brownies had enjoyed a pack holiday in Felixstowe enjoying a ferry trip across to Bawdsey and walks along the beach. The Stowupland pack was full with 24 members but parents of girls approaching 7 were encouraged to make contact with either Jill Doward or Jan Lake to put their daughter’s name on the waiting list.

The following year, Jill Doward D.C. Gipping Vale District Guider noted in Telstar that the Stowupland Rainebow Guides and Stowupland Brownies continued to meet in the High School on ‘Mondays & Wednesdays respectively. She also reported that Mrs Wilden, whowas an experienced Guider who had transferred from 2nd Combs Brownie Pack and they were be’pleased to take new girls between 10 and 14 years to add ot the small group of girls who currentley attend ‘ on Monday evenings at the High Scholl between 7-15 and 9 pm. She added they were still looking for an assistent Guider.
