Dullysfeld, dulls, doles etc

Our first record for Dullysfeld is from c1410. By the tithe apportionments of the 19th century there are various fields named doolys, dulls, doals or doles around the village.

Dullysfield

James le Wrygth for that pasture lying between the field call Dullysfield on one part & the common way leading to Stowe on the other.

John Marshal chaplain for ii pieces of land at Farys which one piece lies between land once John Skymere & close called Ky on the other & one side abuts on le Churchwye and the other on land of John Hotot & the other piece leading to the lane to Gouvys and Dullysfield and one head abutts on le Churchweye & the other on the close of Richard Skynn’e on the other called Gouys.

William Eston for that field called Dullysfield containing 15 acres

Also William Eston jun for Mrkysland and Welemedewe and iv (?) acres lying at Bromcros.

Dulls

The fields of Dulls (tm 554), Great Dulls (tm 555) and Long Dulls (tm 625) are occupied by John Boby and the landowners are the trustees of John Edgar Rust.
