Sothcroft

Hugh Clerk – for a piece of land lying in Sothcroft between the land of said ‘Hugh on each side, one head abuts on alnet de Thorney Halle and on the Kings Highway to Crety’ggre on the other.;
John Woluard for that close lying between the bank on one part & a close called Sothcroft on the other.
Sotheg
From the 1400s woods: called Sotheg abutting land of Robert Monteyne kt.
South Gates
From the tithe apportionments – Great South Gate (463), Little South Gates (467) and South Gates Meadow (476) lie to the South of Thorney Green, abutting land of John Mullender. In 1840 the land owner is Sir John Edgar Rust and the occupier is William Smith
