The Suffolk Iron Works
Although the foundry was outside the boundary of Stowupland it is included here because it provided employment for men from Stowupland.

From 1872 we have an early mention of a cricket club being organised on Stowupland Green {Suffolk Mercury: 06 July 1872}






This EADT article from the 1970s was a reminder of the important role that the Suffolk Iron Foundary played in World War Two. Amongst other things they made the trollies used to load the bombs onto planes.
