1452: William Kyng of Thorney 10s to a new parclose (screen) in the said church (St Peters) to be made about the chapel and altar of St John the Baptist. with the advice and discretion of parishoners and attorneys or to be dieposed in the proper fitting of the same altar.

1936 Death of 82 year old Mrs Sarah Ann King, widow of William King (one time County Court Bailiff at Stowmarket). Sarah was the 3rd daughter of Mr  & Mrs R. Diaper of Oak Farm. her funeral was held at the Stowupland Congregational Chapel. Mrs T.Brame was her only surviving sister.{Suffolk Chronicle: Friday, 10 July 1936}
