Miss Kinch, headmistress in Stowupland

Ada Kinch arrived in Stowupland in 1935 to take up her role as Head mistress. 4 years later she was involved in preparing her school and its children for living through the outbreak of WW2.

Unfortunately we don’t have a date for this report on school fund raising by Miss Kinch.

From a post on Facebook, Gerry List remembered some teachers from his time at the school in 1947 to 53.

Mr James had std 3, in the main room. Miss Kinch, the headmistress had std 4 in the end room. Miss Abbott had std 2 in a large room and at the far end of the school was Miss Burch and the infants.
