Stowupland Parish Boundaries

In 1914 Stowupland covered an area of around 2,500 acres with a population of 1409. It extended down to the bank of the River Gipping, included Stowupland Street, the Railway and most of the riverside industries and warehouses.

In 1918 there were 1,700 electors. With plans for new housing it was anticipated there would be a further 700 electors,  so adjustments were needed to be made to   the parish wards. Stowupland was made a 2 member ward, but with advisory note that this might need to be revised if there was a change to growth in housing.

By 1931 the population had reduced to 773 but still with 2,481 acres.
