Poole

In 1891 Emma Poole (b1852) at age 38 is an inmate of Onehouse Workhouse. She is there with her 10 year old son Frederick Albert George. Emma was described as being blind from Infancy

20 years later from the 1911 census she is living with her sister Ellen Cooper (age 61, so born 1850)  off Thorney Green. Also there are Ellen’s sons 27 year old Albert, a farm labourer,-  David Cooper (21, working at the Gun Cotton factory) and Ephraim Cooper age 20. Ellen is the older sister by 2 years, she had been born in Drinkstone. all 3 boys had been born in Stowupland.

Ellen was born in Drinkstone, Emma had born in Thurston. Blind since infancy.

By the 1920’s Emma and Ellen are living in the middle of the three cottages that back on to Chapel Alley, possibly after Mr & Mrs Charles Wilden moved out.
