Miss Ruth Scarfe, of Meadowcroft died at age 69 in 1961. She had farmed at Oak Farm. As well as being the Chapel organist she was an active supporter of the Women’s Meeting,  the Christian Endeavour and Women’s Institute. The organ at her funeral was played by Mrs G. Garrod.
