Willow Wood or 3Ts

This property near the Village Green is known as 3Ts because today it has 3 materials used as roofing material – tin, tile and thatch.

In 1840  plot 357 was owned by John Boby and occupied by Robert Kerry.

In 1855 the rate book shows the owner as John Boby and occupier Robert Kerry.

In 1887 Robert Boby ‘treated with Kerry to build the pair of clay lump thatched houses (Dalziels, according to Ena Carter) out of the clay dug from the big reservoir in front of the water-works, & promised to let him keep the tenancy of the ‘3T’ house. The shed in which us embedded the V.R. Letter box was built from the left over clay.’
