In 1855 Cooper Symonds and Matthew Symonds are mentioned in the Rate Book at Upland Farm

In the census of 1851, John Symons (b. 1829) and Cooper Symons (b. 1834) are listed as living at the home of Elizabeth Cooper in Saxham Street. They are her grandsons and assistant farmers. Their grandmother is 77 and a farmer of 130 acres employing 5 men and 3 boys.

In 1868, Cooper Symonds, Mr Steadman and Mrs J Symonds were all part of a larger number of creditors trying to reclaim some money from the bankruptcy of an Ipswich  firm of brewers, Bridges, Cuthbert and Company. {Suffolk Mercury 1868}
