Some thoughts on the history of Local History.
To paraphrase David Dymond – in doing :oca; History we should standat our boundaries and look out.
In 1973 the Workers’ Educational Association ran a series of lectures on Local History and researching it. We have notes that were kept by a local lady, Ena Carter, which help us understand the research process.


The course tutor for the proposed 12 weeks of meetings was Peter Northeast. The venue was Stowupland School, now Freeman’s Community School.
