On October 25th, 1873 the Suffolk, Norfolk, Essex and Cambridgeshire Advertiser carried a report on an inquest into the death of 9 week old Edith Betsy Diaper. The inquest was held at The Retreat pub. Her parents were named as Esther and Charles Diaper. The attending physician was Mr John Wilton Sheridan, cause of death was given a suffocation but it was deemed an accidental death.
