In 1978 a sign intended to be a ‘permanent memorial’ to Queen Elizabeth II’s Jubilee year was erected on the viage Green. . it had been designd by Mrs Mary Clarke and made by Mr Terry Clarke and Mr V. Lambert, at a cost of £200.
It was reported in a local paper to show ‘ acorns and wild roses to represent countryside, a dove symbolises Columbyne Hall, one of the oldest buildings, and the crest of a local family.’
