– Thoms GARRARD dec. to Philip Garrard, his son 1 ac copyhold land of the tenement TARLCEYE in Stowupland & one messuage & 3 acres of land & pasture in Thorney with appurtenances in Stow lying next to the road leading from Saxon Street to Newton on the North & yhe lands of John Camplayn on the south. 1899 & 1904 Charles Garrard is at Town Farm. He is the father of Elsie Florence Garrard who married Chas Gyford of Saxham Cottage and Gyfords shop.

1946 newspaper report on the 61st wedding anniversary of Mr Charles and Mrs Margaret Garrard. 

Elsie Gyford was one of their daughters, Elsie Florence b 1898). She was one of 8 children, having 2 older brothers , an older sister and 3 younger sisters. her father was originally from Wyverstone.

In 1949 Margaret Garrard died at the age of 87.
