Horrex

At the start of the 20th century the Horrex family lived in one of the cottages of the barn Cottages, Church Walk hamlet, Stowupland.

In 1936 Edward Albert Horrex, the youngest son of Alice and Arthur Horrex, at age 37 committed suicide with a shotgun at Layham, Lotts Farm. He had previously worked at the Elms, Firs & other places.

d. 13th November, 1916. age 26

Buried in Grave 111.T.3 Euston Road Cemetery, Somme.

His parents were William and Alice Horrex. In 1901 he was living in Barn Cottages, main Road.

By 1911 at age 20 he was lodging at Century Cottage, The Green and employed as a farm worker.

His elder brother John died just 5 months before Bertie, see below.

Buried in Grave 291 Salonika Lambert Road Cemetery, Greece.

In 1901 at age 16 as the eldest son of William & Alice Horrex he is living at home in Barn Cottages, Main Road and working on a farm as a cattleman.

by 1911 at age 27 he is married with a 3 year old child, still working on a farm but moved to Gipping Road.

Within 6 months his parents had lost 2 sons (see Bertie Horrex).
