John Hubbard was a yeoman of Stowupland in his inventory from the time of his death (1646) are given ‘certain hoppoles & hayers for Kell £20.00 and certaine hopps for Kells £30.00’.
also ‘certaine hemp …13-4.’
1653 -Inventory of William Hubbard, late of Stowupland. In the backhouse Chamber Twentie pound wole, four stone hemp, one ould chest …2-2-0.
In 1568 ‘the fower ashes growing at Be-des [?] House nowe the house of John Hubbard‘. Suggests this was the western extremity of the 16th century bounds of Colombine Manor.
