Wright
Ronald Alfred Wright
Ron came to Stowupland with his wife and 2 young boys in the mid 1950s. He replaced Ada Kinch as Head Teacher of Stowupland Primary School, retiring in 1973.
He had previously taught in Wickford and before that in Nottingham.
On arriving in Stowupland the family lived in the school house, but within 10 years they had moved along Church Road to Orchard End. The old school house became part of the school extension.
In 1973 Ronald Wright retired from Freeman County Primary School. He had been head for 26 years. Whilst living in Stowupland Mr Wright had been a member of Stowupland Parish Council and served as its clerk.
Dolly Wright
In 1974 Dolly Wright from Trinity Walk retired as assistant cook at Stowupland primary school, she had worked there for 19 years, she was presented with a ssilver roase bowl and dish.
