Stebbings

In 1835 a cottage owned by Robert Stegall and occupied by Thomas Pyman and Samuel Stebbings was used as a chapel by non-conformists. This was in the area of todays Oak Tree Farm (Saxham Street).

Thomas (b.1811) and Sarah (b. 1816)  Stebbings in 1841 were living along Pitman’s Road -in Stowupland (Today’s A1120 between Holy Trinity Church and Saxham Street.) They have 4 young children James (b. 1832), Lucy (b. 1836), Mary (b.1838) and John (b.1840).
