Stowupland Flower Show and Fete, 1965 onwards.
he first Stowupland produce show was held in August, 1886 at the fairly recently opened Board School.
It soon moved along the road to be held in the grounds of Stowupland Hall but for several years it continued to be called Stowupland Cottagers Show.
Subsequently the name Cottagers was replaced with Stowupland Flower Show and Fete, ontinuing to be held in the grounds or park of Stowupland Hall until 1965.
Until 1964 the Stowupland Flower show and Fete had been held at Stowupland Hall but after ’64 the decision was made to move the show along the road to the Village Hall.

This was a much scaled down affair but had the advantage that some of the activities could be held undercover. over the folowing decades the spirit of the show lingers but is no longer the grand occasion of its earlier years.

In 1985 a meeting was held in the Stowupland High School to discuss combining ‘the Church Flower Festival and the High School Arts Festival’ . It was hoped that local organisations would get involved putting on their own activities.
In 1993 the parish church were still holding an Annual Festival Of Art, Music & Flowers.
