Burrows

Alfred Burrows was born at the end of the 19th century. He was nicknamed Lucky, he spent several years at Town Farm in Saxham Street.

An Elijah Burrows is named as a shop keeper in 1892, living in Saxham Street.

In her diaries Margaret Catchpole noted that Elijah Burrows, the cousin of May Denny, had died in Stow Lodge aged 76. The date of his death is unsure as the note follows on from a note that is was Margarate’s birthday on 31st December. 1964.

In 1903 Samuel Burrows, a labourer, was charged with being drunk and disorderly and causing damage to a brewing tub and zinc pail belonging to Rachael Diaper, a farmer.
