Rusty
Rusty (John Wade) was a horse man on Gipping Farm and at Stowupland Hall during the early 20th century. Ena Carter wrote that he could neither read nor write. He would get up with the sun and go to bed with the sun. She also recorded incidents of his gift of second sight.
Rusty was the uncle of Cyril Wade, one of our brave 37 named on the Village’s war memorial.
