In 1961 Thomas E Chaplin and his wife Muriel moved into Stowupland Hall. In 1979 the Hall and land were sold to Alexander Anderson.
In 1977 Muriel had organised a party in one of their barns for Saxham Atreet children to celebrate the Queen’s Silver Jubilee.S
Frederick Chaplin (b 6/6/1862, he died age 78) )He was originally from Battisford but before settling his family in Stowupland they had lived in Mickfield, Earl Stonham and Combs.
In 1901 Frederick and his wife Caroline, were living near Saxham Cottage with their family, that included Arthur (b.1886) , Oliver and Ethel Kate. He first first worked for George Stedman at The Firs before moving to Upland Hall (presumably Stowupland Hall ).
Ethel married Charles William Scarlett and they continued to live in Saxham Street moving into the cottage next door to Saxham Cottage in 1925.
In 1937 Frederick is living with his son Oliver. Fred is a retired horseman but his son is still working with horses. See bar tales from the Crown for a tale about horsemanship.
In 1939 Frederick Chaplin (b.1885) and Kate Emily Chaplin (b. 1889) are living in a Bungalow near stowupland Hall
In 1936 the Silver Wedding of Mr and Mrs Arthur Chaplin (b 1886) was reported in the local press. They were married in 1911 but in 1936 they are living in Stowupland Hall Bungalow. Arthur is the son of Frederick and Caroline Chaplin and Mrs A Chaplin was the 3rd daughter of Mrs Banhan of Creeting Road.
