Earl Stonham Town Lands

In the 19th century there were 2 land areas in Stowupland owned by Earl Stonham Feoffees i.e. Rev John Phear, John Marton sen and others

One area was to the North of the Main Road and from at least the 15th century through to the mid 20th lands of Thrandeston Farm supplied revenue to Earl Stonham.

The other area was to the south east of Saxham Street, 1st, 2nd and 3rd Stonham fields and the Drift way linking Saxham Street to these fields and the town barn. These fields were bought by Samuel Cobbold in 1926, whether before or after they were known as Bradwell Croft or Brad Meadows. ( Details retrieved by Ena Carter from Grange Farm Deeds, she noted that in 1735 a property in Bills then occupied by T.Codd was  nr Bradfield Way)
