He was killed in action and is commemorated on the Arras Memorial panel bay 4.

In the 1901 and 1911 census he is listed as a single man living in Crown Cottages on Main Road.

He had served in the Boer War before enlisting as a Regular in the 2nd Battalion Suffolk Regiment in 1912. He went on to serve in Egypt in 1913. Then from August 1914 until his death he was in Flanders.

Mr Arthur Kerry, died 1936.

Arthur Kerry was a shoe maker living on The Green, he was employed by Mr Wilden at Stowupland’s Post Office.

His funeral was officiated by the Rev Bonney.

In 1938 his son, George married Doris Grace Sadler from Woolpit.
