In 1928 the Taylor family moved into Park Farm, replacing the Pyman family who had been there since at least 1757.

From 1874 to the 1930’s the Taylor family were in Uplands Farm, Saxham Street.

Around the 1800s Bayley Tailor was associated with Stowupland Hall

A newspaper article from 1897 tells us that the Congregational Sunday School was established around the 1820s by Bailey Taylor.

1841 – Isaac Taylor of Earl Stonham mentioned in Poll Books {SLHGA/Stowupland families ECA}

1839/40 –  Isaac Taylor owned & occupied “Pightle or Gray’s Close (Tithe map No 487) arable 2a 3r 27p

                 – Isaac Taylor owned ‘barn & yards’ 488a occ by Samuel Wicks

               – Isaac Taylor owned ‘cottage & garden’ 488 occ by John Hannibell

             Issac Taylor owned  ‘cottage & garden’ 402 occ by Issac Smith & others.

1851 census names Issac Taylor age 39 blacksmith, employing 1 man at Thorney Green.

In the mid 19th century Isaac Taylor was a Blacksmith living on the Green. His son William works with him, but in the 1871 census Isaac is described as disabled, and the family are living in Bethels (?) Cottages near The Wellington Pub.

In 1828, 1 acre of lands occupied by William Taylor were arable

1839/40 owned Tm 401 ‘cottage & Garden & ½ acre occ by James Toller &others

1839/40 owned 3 cottages (tm 489, 489a, 454) occupied by Chas Shepherd, Geo Rist, Jeremiah Baker & others.

1851 census – William Taylor age 72, farmer 11 acres in Thorney Green.

10/5/1853 – William Taylor late of Stowupland wheelwright but now of Combs, see surrender document relating to Fields & Padnall to Elias George Bauley, miller.

17/05/ 1855. William Taylor ( 60 yr old farmer) was found drowned, ruled due to ‘lunancy”(Stowmarket LHG archive, data collated by Steve Williams).

1859 – William Taylor of Earl Stonham  mentioned in Poll Books.

1874 -Whites mentions a William Taylor as farmer and threshing machine proprietor.

From 1879 to 1916 Whites names William Taylor as a farmer at Uplands farm, Saxham Street.
