Most years Stowmarket holds a Christmas Tree Festival, Christmas Trees are put up in public spaces around the town and local groups are invited to decorate them. SLHG usually decorate a tree in what was Abbotts Hall at the Food Museum. This year the museum staff took as their theme Christmas Around the World. We wanted to keep a historical theme so after some head scratching decided to make decorations that would reflect the christmas cards and messages that Stowuplanders living abroad might have sent home to their friends and loved ones. To keep our members busy over the festive period the committee had produced a quiz to test their knowledge of Stowupland’s history. The solutions will be available at our first meeting of 2023, that is on February 1st. Hope to see you there.
