Our featured image relates to the 1960s when Stowupland villagers were concerned that the Lady of the Manor intended to sell off the Green for housing. The reality was that, yes, a developer was buying land but only so a road could be built to give access to a road that was not on the Green. The parish council later were able to buy the Green and protect it from any development.
