Pyman
In a note relating to her research on Park Farm, Ena Carter commented that a John Pyman at Earl Stonham was named on the 1327 subsidy and ‘this was the only Pyman mentioned for the whole of Suffolk’.
According to Hollingsworth (History of stowmarket p.137)in 1571 J. Pyman was one of the parish officers.
In 1640 James Pyman is recorded as overseer for the poor (makes his mark only).
7th December 1703 found a agreement signed (signs his name) by James Pyman, yeoman in his role as church warden (this would have been for Stowmarket church), He is still a church warden in 1712/3.

In 1824 Charles Freeman (from Stowupland Hall) noted in his diaries that Mr Pyman had a shop for fruit.

In 1835 a cottage owned by Robert Stegall and occupied by Thomas Pyman and Samuel Stebbings was used as a chapel by non-conformists. This was in the area of todays Oak Tree Farm (Saxham Street).

In the 1840 tithe apportionments, the arable fields of Upper Pages (tm 1 / 11a 0r 19p) and Lower Pages (part of tm2 / 3a 3r 33p) are owned by Sir Charles Tyrell but occupied by Robert Steggall. Robert Steggall owns a cottage further along Saxham Street (tm 40) but this is occupied by Thomas Pyman and others.

1904 the funeral of Miss Annie Pyman, age 85. She had lived at The Croft.
On Wednesday September 7th, 1927 the death of Charles Pyman was announced. The Rev Chapman officiated at his funeral.
In 1907 Miss E.R.Pyman of Park Farm, Stowupland married Mr. J.E .Jewers from Rattlesden, the Rev Shallard officiated.
1936, Miss Agnes Pyman died, she had lived at The Croft for many years with her sister.
