In August 2025 we had an intriguing question relating to a couple of fields named in the 1840 tithe record as Great (tm 322- 13a 0r 4p) and Little Castle Fields (tm 320 – 6a 1r 6p) . They are associated with a square wooded enclosure called Round O (tm321 – 3r) These are within the estate of Park Farm which was owned in the 19th century by Richard Dalton.
Sadly we are unaware as to the origin of any of the names, maybe we need to call in Time Team?
